How charging works
Refunded on failure
Credits are charged when the request starts and refunded automatically if the generation fails. A failed job costs nothing.
Batches reserve upfront
A batch reserves credits for every image before the first one renders. If the balance cannot cover the reservation the request returns 402 and nothing is generated.
Free calls
The resource endpoints, the detail photo analysis, and every upload — mannequins, backgrounds, brand labels — cost nothing. Only generations are charged.
Where credits come from
Credits arrive with a Photta plan and renew with it. The table above prices those plans in your own currency; GET `/api/v1/account` reports your balance by source and the next renewal date.
Questions about API credits
When are credits charged?
At the moment the request is accepted, not when the image lands. The 202 response for most endpoints already reports what the job will cost.
What happens when a job fails?
The credits come back automatically. In a batch, failed items are reported separately and their reserved credits are returned in `credits_refunded`.
How do I see my balance?
GET `/api/v1/account` returns the balance broken down by source together with your plan and the next renewal, and GET `/api/v1/account/usage` reports spend for the current billing month.
Is there a money price per image?
Not directly — the API is billed in credits, and what a credit costs depends on the plan it came with. The plan table on this page prices each plan in your own currency and states how many credits it carries, so the cost of one image is that plan price divided by its credits, times the credits the call takes.
