Why people look for a The New Black alternative
- More platform than you need. Design, tech packs, lookbooks, store tools and agents come with every plan; some sellers only need product photos.
- Limits on credits you can hold. Credits roll over only up to a cap: 700 on Starter.
- No jewelry or eyewear studio listed. Its site lists no dedicated studio for either.
The New Black's prices are from thenewblack.ai/pricing, checked 30 September 2026.
1. Photta
Photta puts your products on AI models from photos of the product: the front, and optionally the back and a detail. A studio photo costs 5 credits at 2K and 6 at 4K.
| Plan | Price | Credits | Studio photos | Cost per photo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $14 a month | 150 | 30 | $0.47 |
| Seller | $29 a month | 500 | 100 | $0.29 |
| Brand | $79 a month | 1,500 | 300 | $0.26 |
| Studio | $249 a month | 5,000 | 1,000 | $0.25 |
Yearly plans cost ten times the monthly price for twelve months of credits, which brings a studio photo down to $0.21 on Studio.
What Photta does that The New Black does not list:
- Jewelry and eyewear studios next to clothing.
- Model Maker, or a photo of a real adult model, as your own model.
- An app in 19 languages.
What The New Black does that Photta does not:
- Design tools: sketches, fabric changes, tech packs, lookbooks.
- Store and ad tools: Shopify import and publishing, social posting, ad campaigns.
- A lower cost per image: about 1 credit, roughly $0.07 to $0.08.
A new Photta account gets 20 credits, enough for 4 studio photos at 2K, with a watermark until you choose a plan.
