Ten tools now turn a photo of a garment, laid flat, on a hanger or on a mannequin, into a photo of it worn by an AI model: Photta, FASHN, Nightjar, CatalogX, Snaproom, Lovino, GreenOnion, Snappyit, On-Model and Botika. They differ in what they accept, what you control, what one photo costs, what the free start lets you do and who owns the result. Each of those was read from the vendor's own pricing, product, help, API or terms pages on 6 October 2026, and Photta's on 7 October, and each is linked below so you can check it again.
It is not a quality ranking. We did not run the same garments through every tool, so there is no realism score here. This is Photta's blog and Photta is one of the ten; its entry is written from its own pages in the same way as the others, including where it costs more.

The ten tools
Photta
Photta's apparel studio puts a garment on a model from one photo of it: a flat lay, a hanger shot or a mannequin. A photo of the back adds a back view (flat lay to model · checked 2026-10-07). You choose who wears it: a model from the catalogue, one you make in Model Maker, or a photo of your own adult model. Models you make or upload are saved and can wear every garment in your catalogue, and fit, length, a background colour or scene and up to three extras (shoes, a bag, a hat or glasses) are optional (AI fashion model generator · checked 2026-10-07).
A photo costs 5 credits at 2K and 6 at 4K, and a model made in Model Maker costs 4. Hobby is $14 a month for 150 credits and Seller $29 for 500, about $0.47 and $0.29 a photo at 2K: on Hobby that is more than most tools here, and on Seller it sits in the middle. The API is included on every plan (pricing · checked 2026-10-07). New accounts get 20 credits without a card, and those photos carry a small watermark; on any paid plan the images are watermark-free and yours to use commercially (FAQ · checked 2026-10-07).
Best for: a catalogue that needs the same model on many garments, back views, and jewelry, eyewear and ghost mannequin photos in the same account.
FASHN
FASHN's Product to Model takes a flat lay, a ghost mannequin, a hanger or a product-only photo and puts the garment on a model (Product to Model · checked 2026-10-06). New accounts get 10 credits, and Basic is $19 a month for 200 credits; a 2K image costs one or two credits depending on the mode, about $0.10 to $0.19 (pricing · checked 2026-10-06). The developer API is a separate product with its own credits. Subscriptions and top-ups are not refundable, and using your own model's face (Face Reference) needs the $99 Agency plan (app pricing · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: the lowest price for a 2K photo among the tools here.
Nightjar
Nightjar turns flat lays, hanger shots and ghost mannequin photos into on-model photos (AI fashion models · checked 2026-10-06). New accounts get 6 credits without a card, and Studio is $25 a month for 150 credits, which Nightjar puts at about $0.17 an image; unused credits do not roll over. The API is on every paid plan and uses the same credits (pricing · checked 2026-10-06), and there is a Shopify app (Shopify App Store · checked 2026-10-06). Its own help article is candid: a flat lay cannot show drape, volume, length on the body or fit, so those are generated, and length is the first thing to check (help · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: an API and a Shopify app from the first paid plan.
CatalogX
CatalogX has a dedicated flat-lay-to-model feature that also takes visible or ghost mannequin photos (flat lay to model · checked 2026-10-06), and its clothing-photo page adds hanger and supplier shots (clothing photo to model · checked 2026-10-06). Signing up gives 5 credits without a card, and its images are never watermarked and may be used commercially, the free ones included. Starter is $9.99 a month for 30 credits at one credit an image, in HD; 2K starts on Pro, and 4K and the API on Business at $49.99. Every plan keeps a 30-day image history, so download what you want to keep (pricing · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: a low monthly price and a free start you can actually publish.
Snaproom
Snaproom's virtual try-on turns flat-lay, hanger or ghost mannequin photos into on-model images (virtual try-on · checked 2026-10-06). Signing up gives 100 credits once, about ten standard-quality photos. Starter is $15 a month for 1,500 credits; the advertised 150 or so photos are at standard quality, which is 0.5K, and larger images cost more credits, but the site does not say how many (pricing · checked 2026-10-06). It publishes no API, no terms of service and no company name.
Best for: many quick, low-resolution drafts.
Lovino (formerly LensGo)
Lovino, renamed from LensGo this year, accepts flat lays, ghost mannequin and hanger shots in its flat-lay-to-model tool and its Fashion Studio (flat lay to model · checked 2026-10-06). The free plan gives 3 credits a day with a watermark, plus one free sample shoot of three images. Fashion Studio is listed on Business plans from $49 a month for 600 credits, at roughly three credits an image, and those plans have no free trial; the tool pages also show cheaper creative plans without saying whether they include it. The API is a private beta (pricing · checked 2026-10-06). Only provider and system failures are refunded, so a rejected image keeps its charge (business · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: brands that also want ads and UGC-style content from the same plan.
GreenOnion
GreenOnion turns flat lays and garment photos, including ghost mannequin and supplier images, into consistent on-model images; hanger photos are not mentioned (AI fashion model photography · checked 2026-10-06). New users get free credits, but the number is not published. Creator is $19 a month for 60 credits at one credit per 2K image, about $0.32, and an API is offered only on Enterprise (pricing · checked 2026-10-06). Unused credits do not roll over (terms · checked 2026-10-06). It also has a Shopify app, with no reviews yet (Shopify App Store · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: marketplace sellers who want listing images beyond fashion in the same tool.
Snappyit
Snappyit's Fashion Model tool uses flat lay, hanger and ghost mannequin photos as the source, and its page says results may vary for transparent fabrics, layered outfits, intricate straps and reflective materials (Fashion Model · checked 2026-10-06). New accounts get 6 credits. Basic is $12.90 a month for 120 credits, or $5.90 a week for 30, but Snappyit does not publish how many credits an on-model photo uses, so the price of one photo cannot be worked out (pricing · checked 2026-10-06). Its Shopify app imports listing images and pushes the results back (Shopify App Store · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: sellers who want images pulled from and returned to their Shopify listings.
On-Model
On-Model calls Flat-to-Model its most popular workflow, and its FAQ says ghost mannequin and hanging shots also work (Flat-to-Model · checked 2026-10-06). The free plan gives 75 credits a month, up to 25 images, at 1080p with a watermark, and those images are for personal, non-commercial use only. Basic is €19 a month for 120 credits, up to 40 images, still at 1080p; custom models and the API start on Pro. Prices are shown only in euros (pricing · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: trying the workflow on a monthly free allowance before paying.
Botika
Botika's Flat Lay product takes a flat lay and you pick a model, a pose and a background (flat lay photos · checked 2026-10-06); its Mannequin product starts from a ghost mannequin photo (mannequin photography · checked 2026-10-06). Hanger photos are not mentioned. The free trial gives 8 credits without a card, and Pro is $55 a month for 50 credits at one credit a photo, about $1.10 a photo (pricing · checked 2026-10-06). It publishes no API, and its Shopify connector is not on the Shopify App Store. Its terms say Botika owns the generated photos and gives you a limited licence to display each one, for two years or for as long as you stay subscribed, whichever is later (terms · checked 2026-10-06).
Best for: brands that want a managed, fashion-only service and accept a display licence.
What to check before you choose
- Who owns the result. On Photta's paid plans the images are yours to use commercially. Botika keeps ownership and gives you a licence to display the photos. Read the terms before you plan a catalogue around a tool.
- What the free start allows. CatalogX's free images can be published commercially without a watermark. On-Model's free images are watermarked and for personal use only. Photta's free photos are watermarked until you choose a plan.
- The size you get on your plan. CatalogX's Starter is HD, Snaproom's quoted photo count is at 0.5K, and On-Model's Basic stays at 1080p. Check the size on the plan you will actually buy.
- Length and fit. A flat lay does not show how a garment hangs on a body, so every tool generates drape, length and fit. Compare them with the real garment before publishing.
- The same model across the catalogue. If a range should share one face, check whether the tool saves a model and reuses it on every garment.
- Failed images. Check what happens to the credits when a result is unusable. At Lovino, only provider and system failures are refunded.
How this comparison was made
Each vendor's pricing, product, help, API and terms pages were read on 6 October 2026, and Photta's on 7 October. Prices are list prices before tax, in the currency the vendor shows. "One photo, roughly" divides the price of the cheapest plan that does the job by the photos it buys at the size named in the table; where a vendor states its own figure, that figure is used. Where a page says nothing about something, the table says so. Prices change often, so check the linked page before you buy.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI turn a flat lay into a photo on a model?
Yes. All ten tools here accept a flat lay: you upload it, choose a model and get the garment worn. A flat lay cannot show drape, length or fit, so those are generated; check them against the real garment before you publish.
Is there a free AI fashion model generator?
All ten have a free start, but the terms differ. CatalogX's free images carry no watermark and may be used commercially, On-Model's free images are watermarked and for personal use only, and Photta's 20 free credits make four 2K photos with a watermark.
Which AI fashion model generator costs least per photo?
On their cheapest plans, FASHN and Snaproom come out lowest per photo and Botika highest, but Snaproom's figure is for 0.5K images. The comparison table on this page has each price with its source and the date it was checked.
Who owns the photos an AI fashion model generator makes?
It depends on the tool. On Photta's paid plans the images are yours to use commercially. Botika's terms keep ownership with Botika and give you a licence to display the photos. Read each tool's terms before you build a catalogue on it.
Can I use my own model?
On most of them. Photta takes a photo of your own adult model or one you make in Model Maker and reuses it on every garment. Nightjar builds a custom model from photos of a person who has agreed to it, CatalogX and On-Model allow your own models from their Pro plans, FASHN's Face Reference needs its Agency plan, and Botika lists custom models only on Enterprise.
